1968 Chevy Camaro RS Restoration

Berlin, CT

Camaro Restoration by Z2 Motorsports.

The Camaro might not be the prototypical muscle car, but it is arguably the most ubiquitous. Everyone has a Camaro story that they are eager to tell. Oftentimes it isn’t even their own car that they can’t keep quiet about, but the car of their father, brother, great aunt, parole officer, …well, you get the point. The Camaro holds a spot in our hearts like no other car. Certainly, not like any other muscle car.

The car pictured here is a 1968 RS model that went through a complete frame-off restoration performed by Z2 Motorsports.  While it remains mostly true to its original form, we snuck in a few performance modifications to make it a bit more enjoyable to drive. The rare Cordovan Maroon exterior, and the deluxe interior option with hounds tooth seats, console gauges, and famous “tick-tock-tach”, give this one an air of maturity not typically present in early Camaros.

Car Background.

The 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS (Rally Sport) is a renowned classic muscle car from the first generation of Camaros. Its distinctive design included hidden headlights and a unique grille with parking lights at the edges. The RS package offered a stylish interior with features like a center console and deluxe steering wheel.

Under the hood, the 1968 Camaro RS offered a range of engine options, including V8s like the 327, 350, and 396 cubic inch variants, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. This variety catered to different performance preferences. Today, the 1968 Camaro RS is highly sought-after by collectors due to its iconic design, historical significance, and association with the muscle car era.
